Statement by the U.S. Russia Foundation Board in Support of Ukraine

The U.S. Russia Foundation condemns the Russian government’s unprovoked and unjustified war against Ukraine and we stand with the Ukrainian victims of this cruel aggression. To support a sovereign and democratic Ukraine, the Board of the U.S. Russia Foundation has voted unanimously for a resolution recommending to the Executive Branch and Congress that $100 million of escrowed funds under the management of the U.S. Russia Investment Fund be immediately redirected to the Western NIS Enterprise Fund, an organization devoted to helping the Ukrainian people.

We also stand with the brave Russian people who continue to speak out against the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine. The Board reaffirms the U.S. Russia Foundation’s commitment to continuing our support for Russians who seek a different and peaceful future for their country.
